 Our breeding stock are all
(OFA) certified against hip dysplasia and (CERF) free of the genetic
eye defects that cause blindness.
In addition, we select our dogs on the basis of natural instincts and abilities, as well as a pleasing disposition and a willingness and love of retrieving. In short, we strive to produce dogs with the classic labrador look that the average amateur trainer can successfully train on his own. |

Our foundation bitch Diamond
R Sexy Sophie encompassed all the qualities we consider
ideal in our dogs. She was extremely good looking (she had a reserve
win, 1st & 2nd her only three times at the show). She was an
extremely aggressive working retriever, as evidenced by her water
entry, but also exhibited the easy going loving disposition typical of
the labrador. And most important, she produced the same or better in
her offspring. |
| Sophie's bloodline is one of a
very few chocolate bloodlines in the
country to be consistently producing top quality performance event dogs
as well as great working gundogs. At the time of her death Sophie was
the dam or grandam of over 40 performance event dogs.
Sophie's offspring can be found competing in licensed field trials and gundog tests across the country as well as hunting in over 47 states, 3 Canadian providences, Japan, Germany and Venezuela! |

At Diamond R Kennels, stud
dogs are chosen not only because they exhibit the qualities we like in
our working dogs, but also because of their ability to pass on these
traits. Many great dogs don't produce their own type - ours do! |

to produce all three colors, we have been able - over the years - to
select a number of her offspring of all colors to enhance our breeding
program. Therefore, we can provide puppies of equally good quality in
your choice of colors. |

In Addition to our FC, AFC
and NFC sired pups, we produce line-bred puppies to enhance and carry
on the traits we have found to be desirable in Sophie's bloodline.
We have litters being born on a fairly regular basis, so we usually have pups available. However, because of the production record of Sophie's bloodline our chocolates and yellows, especially, sell extremely fast. |
| Since we start accepting
deposits from the time each breeding is planned, many times by the time
the pups are born they are all sold. It's best to plan ahead. Deposits are not refundable.
